This year, the Nowy Styl Group has organised the annual charity ball for children growing up in the full time care of orphanages and other institutions of the Podkarpacie region. It is for the eighth time that the children have been invited for a ball and donations have been made to their carers. We began in 2000, when we invited 150 little guests. This year the number has grown to 700 younger and older children from local orphanages, foster families and centres, parishes and societies associated with the Association of Polish Aid to the Mentally Ill. We are happy to report that the children always have enormous fun, usually talking about the ball for months afterwards and taking weeks to prepare for the next occasion! Trying to meet their expectations, we give each ball a theme and a focus. This year we invited everyone to dance! To begin with, the Gracja Dance Formation from Krosno gave a show of standard ballroom dancing accompanied by the special effects of smoke and flashing lights, followed by the TNT CREW  with a performance of break dance. However, what took our viewers breath away was the surprise appearance of the performers of the Polish edition of Dancing with the Stars, who gave a master performance of rumba and samba followed by a master class in the cha-cha. The children were delighted and excited, especially that they had the opportunity to ask their favourite dancers for an autograph. For the Warsaw based dancers who performed for nominal fees, it was also an opportunity to share their skill and sense of fun. In the middle of the dance frenzy, Santa Clause arrived almost unnoticed. He delivered most of the presents prior to the ball, but even so, each of the invited organizations received a small gift. Santa’s bag was small this year, as most of our guests asked for our contribution to renovation or holiday funds, or for the financing of additional music, art and language classes.
